2024 Nissan ARIYA
The ARIYA debuted for model year 2023 with the attractive attributes of longer range, more power, a
larger interior, and available all-wheel drive. For this EV model’s sophomore year, Nissan has added
to the appeal by lowering the MSRP on all trims – without taking away any standard features. For
example, the base-level ENGAGE is now $3,600 less, while other trims have been reduced by up to
$6,000.
The ARIYA has been widely recognized for its smooth ride, smart design, and
state-of-the-art technology inside and out, including a standard suite of advanced driver aids. This
upscale, electrified crossover is a fine complement to the more entry-level LEAF, Nissan’s original
EV.
Trims and Powertrain
The 2024 ARIYA lineup consists of six trim levels: the ENGAGE, ENGAGE+, VENTURE+, EVOLVE+, EMPOWER+, and
PLATINUM+. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard on all but the ENGAGE+ and PLATINUM+, which get Nissan’s
e-4ORCE all-wheel drive (AWD) system by default. The FWD powertrain consists of an electric motor, a
shift-by-wire single-speed transmission, and a lithium-ion battery, while available e-4ORCE AWD features
a dual-motor system paired with the same transmission and a higher voltage battery.
The
performance figures for the ‘24 ARIYA are determined by the trim level and drivetrain. Here’s a list of
all the metrics for horsepower, torque, and estimated driving mileage: The ENGAGE FWD makes 214 hp and
221 lb.-ft. of torque and has a range of 216 miles, while the ENGAGE AWD makes 335 hp and 413 lb.-ft. of
torque and has a range of 205 miles. The ENGAGE+ AWD has an output of 389 hp and 442 lb.-ft. of torque,
with a range of 272 miles, while the VENTURE+ FWD puts out 238 hp and 221 lb.-ft. of torque and has a
range of 304 miles. The EVOLVE+ FWD also makes 238 hp and 221 lb.-ft. of torque, but has a range of 289
miles. The EVOLVE+ AWD produces 389 hp and 442 lb.-ft. of torque, with a range of 272 miles. The
EMPOWER+ FWD puts out 238 hp and 221 lb.-ft. of torque and has a range of 289 miles; while the PLATINUM+
AWD makes 389 hp and 442 lb.-ft. of torque, with a range of 267 miles.
Charging
Every ARIYA has a 7.2-kW onboard charger and a 130-kW quick charge port, but charging times vary depending on the trim. Both ENGAGE drivetrains will recharge in about 10 hours via a standard 240 V power outlet, while 50-kW DC fast charging will reach 80 percent battery in approximately 64 minutes, or 35 minutes at peak. The ENGAGE+ and the trims above it will take around 14 hours to recharge at 240 volts, while the 50-kW DC fast-charge times are estimated to reach 80 percent in roughly 90 minutes, or 40 minutes at peak.
Standard Features
The ENGAGE and ENGAGE+ come with a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, leatherette seating surfaces,
heated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory settings, heated rear seats, a
power-sliding center console, the Divide-N-Hide cargo system (FWD only), 19-inch aluminum wheels, and a
removable cargo cover. The EVOLVE+ adds a power liftgate, LED fog lights, rain-detecting windshield
wipers, a panoramic moonroof, wireless device charging, HomeLink, an 8-way power-adjustable passenger’s
seat, and power open/close cargo access.
The VENTURE+ wear the range crown with its officially
estimated 304 miles, but it has to minimize power-consuming features to achieve that. As such, is goes
without the power-adjustable heated seats and steering wheel, the power-sliding center console, and the
position memory system, but the trade-off is the larger battery that enables its excellent range. This
trim also swaps in cloth upholstery in place of the leatherette and adds automatic climate control
(dual-zone) with rear seat vents, Nissan Intelligent Key, a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, a
12.3-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, interior ambient lighting,
four USB ports, heated power-folding side mirrors, one 12V DC power outlet, six cargo tie-down hooks,
remote-activated perimeter lighting, and LED exterior lighting (headlights/daytime running
lights/taillights).
The safety-focused EMPOWER+ not only comes with more driver-assistance
features, but it also gains a multi-color contextual line of illumination, an interior lighting feature
that spans the horizon line of the cockpit and indicates by color which driving mode is selected. The
PLATINUM+ has a motion-activated liftgate, side-view mirrors with integrated turn indicators and reverse
tilt-down, Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a Bose premium audio system,
19-inch wheels, and a memory system for the driver’s and passenger’s seats, steering wheel, and side
mirrors. Plus, the PLATINUM+ can be ordered with optional 20-inch alloy wheels.
Advanced Driver Assistance and Safety Technology
Safety is a top priority throughout the ‘24 ARIYA lineup, with a long list of advanced safety features
and driver-assist technologies installed on every trim. This ProPILOT Assist suite contains front and
rear sonar, intelligent forward collision warning, intelligent emergency braking, pedestrian automatic
braking, intelligent cruise control with distance control and traffic stop/go, intelligent blind-spot
intervention, intelligent lane intervention, rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking,
Intelligent Driver Awareness, traffic sign recognition, and auto high beam assist.
The EVOLVE+
enhances the driver’s field of vision with Nissan’s Intelligent Rearview Mirror and Intelligent Around
View Monitor, while the EMPOWER+ upgrades to a hands-free version of ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link and
an automated parking system.
