2025 Nissan Altima
As demand increases for SUVs and pickup trucks, sedan fans have fewer choices each model year. But the Altima lives on for 2025, with its spacious and comfortable interior, pleasing fuel efficiency, and available all-wheel drive – an option not available on competitors like the Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord, and Hyundai Sonata.
This time around, Nissan has made premium features more accessible with the SV Special Package, marked by a sportier look with 17-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, dual-chrome exhaust finishers, a power moonroof, and illuminated kick plates. Inside, the SV Special’s cabin shows off carbon fiber-look trim around the center console and a wealth of technology, including a 12.3-inch color display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a wireless phone charger.
Trims and Powertrains
Buyers of the ‘25 Altima can choose from four trim levels: S, SV, SR, and SL. All of those get a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, a continuously variable transmission, and front-wheel drive; AWD is available on every trim except the S. The S and SV have an output of 188 horsepower and EPA-estimated fuel economy of 27 mpg city and 39 mpg highway. The SR and SL provide 182 horsepower and 27 mpg city/37 mpg highway. Altimas with AWD achieve an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.
Standard Features
The S has remote start, remote keyless entry with push-button ignition, zero gravity front seats, cloth upholstery, a 5-inch multi-function information display, an auxiliary audio input jack, two USB ports, automatic LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, power side mirrors, and 16-inch steel wheels. The SV sits on 17-inch machine-finished alloy wheels and comes with the Nissan Intelligent Key, a 7-inch advanced drive-assist display, wood-tone interior trim, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and two additional USB ports.
The appearance-driven SR has a dark chrome V-Motion grille, a charcoal-colored rear diffuser, dual-chrome exhaust finishers, and 19-inch machine-finished alloy wheels. Inside, its steering wheel and shift knob are wrapped in faux leather, and it has paddle shifters, front sport bucket seats, premium cloth upholstery, silver geometric trim, and piano-black interior finish.
The SL comes loaded with upscale amenities such as a power-sliding glass moonroof, a wireless phone charging pad, dark teak wood-tone trim, leather seating surfaces, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, a 4-way power-adjustable passenger’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control (which can be managed via the remote start system), second-row air-conditioning vents, 19-inch machine-finished alloy wheels, and power side mirrors with integrated LED turn indicators.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 suite has six primary standard features: automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, high beam assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear automatic braking. All trims also get intelligent driver alertness, intelligent forward collision warning, and rear door alert. The SR and above gain equipment to optimize safety as well as performance, with the addition of active ride control and intelligent trace control. The SL alone has the Intelligent Around-View Monitor, intelligent lane intervention, traffic sign recognition, and ProPILOT Assist, which lends support to active lane centering and cruise control functionality.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The S through SR have an 8-inch color touchscreen, the Bluetooth hands-free phone system and audio streaming, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Siri Eyes Free, a hands-free text messaging assistant, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a six-speaker sound system. The SL adds a host of technology upgrades, including a 12.3-inch color screen with multi-touch control, Hello Nissan voice recognition, wireless versions of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a nine-speaker Bose audio system, SiriusXM with 360L, Alexa Built-in, Nissan Door to Door Navigation, SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
