2025 Nissan Armada
The all-new 2025 Nissan Armada boasts upgraded performance and comfort features as well as two new additions to the lineup. The heart of this new generation is a twin-turbo V6 engine, which puts out 425 horsepower and 516 ft.-lb. of torque – a significant improvement over the outgoing V8, which made only 400 horsepower and 413 lb.-ft. of torque. The other half of this new powertrain is a 9-speed automatic transmission, which enables better fuel economy – as much as a 3-mpg improvement – than the 7-speed automatic transmission it replaced. The Armada’s chassis is also more rigid than before, making it even tougher off the asphalt.
The Armada’s lineup has been revamped as well. After dropping the Midnight Edition, Nissan added two new trim levels, one built for adventure and the other for luxury. The trail-ready PRO-4X gets standard 4WD and some rugged upgrades, including an electronic locking rear differential, hill descent control, an underbody metal skid plate, and all-terrain tires. The other debuting trim, the Platinum Reserve, spoils its passengers with luxury features like massaging seats and adaptive air-spring suspension for an exceptionally smooth and comfortable ride.
Trims and Powertrains
The 2025 Nissan Armada is offered in five trim levels: the SV, SL, and Platinum, plus the all-new PRO-4X and Platinum Reserve. All of them are available in the standard rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and the intelligent four-wheel-drive (4WD) powertrains, except the PRO-4X, which is made only with 4WD. The powertrain for all pairs a 3.5-liter 6-cylinder engine (output: 425 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque) with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The towing capacity across the lineup reaches up to 8,500 lb.
Most trim levels return 16 mpg city and 20 highway mpg with rear-wheel drive (RWD) and 16 city and 19 highway mpg with four-wheel drive (4WD). The exception is the 4WD-only PRO-4X, which achieves 15 mpg city/18 mpg highway.
Standard Features
The SV seats eight passengers and is equipped with leatherette upholstery, automatic LED headlights and front accent lights, remote-activated perimeter approach lighting with puddle lights, keyfob remote engine start and window controls, four-door request switches, tri-zone automatic temperature control, rear privacy glass, an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, a 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, illuminated entry and ambient lighting, roof rails, the Nissan Intelligent Key with push-button ignition, six USB ports, two 12V DC power outlets, and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. The SL also seats eight but is available with a captain’s chair package, which limits passenger capacity to seven. Other upgrades for the SL are TailorFit leatherette upholstery, heated front seats with power two-way lumbar support, a heated steering wheel, wireless device charging, a memory driver’s seat, delayed-off headlights, a power liftgate with keyfob open and close, illuminated entry and ambient lighting with optional selectable color, heated power-folding side mirrors with remote tilt-down and turn indicators, a household 120V power outlet, and 20-inch machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels. The Platinum comes standard with second-row captain’s chairs but has an optional split-bench seat package, which will allow it to seat eight. Its other amenities include LED fog lights, quilted leather upholstery, climate-controlled front seats with power 4-way lumbar support, an 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, heated rear seats, a panoramic moonroof with a power sunshade, illuminated entry and ambient lighting with standard selectable color, eight USB ports, and a power liftgate with proximity keyfob open and close.
The all-new PRO-4X is made with higher approach angles for better trail performance. It also has trim-specific interior embroidery, 20-inch black-painted aluminum-alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, an electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, and tow hooks painted Lava Red. It also has a digital rearview mirror, heated power side mirrors (auto-dimming with power tilt/fold), and trim-exclusive leather seats with quilted inserts and stitching. The PRO-4X Premium Package will add heated rear seats, a power liftgate with proximity keyfob open and close, a panoramic moonroof with a power sunshade, climate-controlled front seats with power 4-way lumbar support, and an 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat. The seven-passenger Platinum Reserve stands out with body-color running boards, massaging front seats, and 22-inch machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels. It’s also eligible for the second-row bench for those who need to seat eight.
Safety
Safety Shield 360, Nissan’s acclaimed suite of driver-assist technologies, is installed on all Armada trims. It consists of intelligent forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking mitigation, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic emergency braking mitigation, brake assist, high beam assist, intelligent blind spot intervention, and intelligent lane intervention. ProPILOT Assist 1.0 hands-on is standard on the SV, while the higher trims get ProPILOT Assist 1.1 hands-on; ProPILOT Assist 2.1 is available on the SL, Platinum, and Platinum Reserve. Driver attention alert, traffic sign recognition, hill start assist, intelligent cruise control with full speed range and hold with traffic stop-go, front and rear parking sensors, and the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage supplemental front airbags and knee bags also appear on every trim.
Every trim except the base SV is set up with integrated NissanConnect Services emergency SOS, traffic sign recognition with speed limiter, an HD Enhanced Intelligent 3D Around View Monitor (fixed views for the SL and full rotation view for the three higher trims), an auto-dimming driver’s-side mirror, visual and graphic trailer hitch and backup assist, and a MyQ Connected Garage door opener. The Platinum, PRO-4X, and Platinum Reserve also get an intelligent rearview mirror with video from the rear camera. The Platinum and Platinum Reserve are loaded with intelligent front and rear dash cams and a cabin camera, but only the Platinum Reserve gets built-in trailer brake control. The PRO-4X gets standard hill descent control and is eligible for a cabin camera and dash cam through the optional PRO-4X Premium Package.
Infotainment Technology
The base infotainment system (in the SV and SL) has a 12.3-inch reconfigurable LCD touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth, AM/FM radio, HD Radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, Siri Eyes Free and Google Assistant voice recognition, and access to the NissanConnect Wi-Fi hotspot. While the base trim gets an unbranded sound system with six speakers, the other trims are upgraded with a 12-speaker Klipsch unit; all but the SV get Google built-in as well and Amazon Alexa as well. The Platinum, PRO-4X, and Platinum Reserve upgrade to a 14.3-inch touchscreen and add voice-activated navigation, the MyNissan custom mobile app, SiriusXM with 360L, and real-time traffic and weather display.
