2025 Nissan Rogue
In the ultra-competitive compact SUV segment, a majority of automakers are content with the status quo. As long as you offer a stylish exterior, seating for five, and available all-wheel drive, car shoppers will consider your vehicle. That being said, the Nissan Rogue has not enjoyed over 15 years of strong sales by following the business-as-usual strategy. Not only does this crossover continue to pair its desirable features with affordable pricing, but it also has best-in-class fuel economy ratings amongst gas-powered engines and is a class leader in standard safety technologies.
Joining the Rogue lineup for 2025 is the Rock Creek, an adventure-ready trim marked by a more rugged design and performance-focused equipment. Safety remains a top priority, with the latest version of Nissan Safety Shield 360 coming standard on all trims. The SL and Platinum now get ProPILOT Assist 2.1 along with an enhanced version of the Intelligent Around View Monitor, which has been upgraded to provide rotating 3D views and two new camera angles: the Invisible Hood View presents a virtual view beneath the engine bay, and the Front Wide View maximizes the driver’s field of vision with a sweeping 176-degree angle.
Trims and Powertrains
The ‘25 Rogue lineup consists of the S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, and Platinum, all of which have a powertrain consisting of a 1.5-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission. While front-wheel drive (FWD) is the default, all-wheel drive (AWD) is available on every trim (the Rock Creek gets it standard). The engine’s output is 201 horsepower and 225 lb.-ft. of torque. All trims have a towing capacity up to 1,500 pounds. A drive-mode selector is included, with settings for Sport, Eco, and Auto; AWD versions add Snow and Off-Road modes.
The EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings for the S and SV are 30 mpg city/37 mpg highway with FWD and 28 mpg city/35 mpg highway with AWD. The SL with FWD returns 29 mpg city/36 mpg highway and 28 mpg city/34 mpg highway with AWD, while the Platinum achieves 29 mpg city/36 mpg highway (FWD) and 28 mpg city/34 mpg highway (AWD). The AWD-only Rock Creek is rated for 27 mpg city/32 mpg highway.
Standard Features
The S receives LED automatic on/off headlights, LED front accent lights, LED taillights, power side mirrors, cloth upholstery, two USB ports, a 12-volt power outlet, an integrated rear spoiler, a 7-inch advanced drive-assist display, and 17-inch grey alloy wheels. The SV upgrades to 18-inch machined alloy wheels with painted accents and adds remote start, a power liftgate, heated power side mirrors, Nissan Intelligent Key with remote door activation and front-door request switch, a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel by TailorFit, dual-zone automatic temperature control, an 8-way power adjustable driver seat, and four total USB ports.
The Rock Creek has an exclusive, off-road design that includes 17-inch dark-painted alloy wheels and all-terrain tires, unique front and rear fascia, a blacked-out grille, a black front bumper, a black tubular roof rack, and upholstery in a blend of durable simulated leather and cloth. Heated front seats and an additional 12V power outlet are added at this level as well. The SL adds a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, a 4-way power adjustable passenger seat, wireless device charging, a 12.3-inch advanced drive-assist display, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, MyQ Connected Garage, a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, active noise cancellation, roof rails, heated power side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, and 19-inch machined alloy wheels with painted accents. The luxurious Platinum is given semi-aniline seating surfaces, memory settings for the driver’s seat, and a large moonroof with a power sunshade.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
The Safety Shield 360 system of sonar, radar technology, and cameras is at the heart of every new Nissan, including the ‘25 Rogue. Even the entry-level S gets high beam assist, predictive brake assist, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and intersection assist, rear cross-traffic alert with rear automatic braking, intelligent driver alertness, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, and rear parking sensors.
The SV and above add intelligent cruise control with traffic stop and go, blind-spot intervention, intelligent lane intervention, ProPILOT Assist 1.0 hands-on, an emergency SOS system via NissanConnect, and ProPILOT Emergency Stop with e-call, which also comes with unresponsive driver assist. The SL and Platinum upgrade to the latest ProPILOT Assist 1.1 hands-on with Navi-link and add an HD Intelligent Around View Monitor, front/rear/side parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition with speed limiter.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The S has an 8-inch color touchscreen infotainment system with a four-speaker sound system, plus Bluetooth phone connectivity and audio streaming, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice recognition control, and MyNISSAN custom mobile apps. Access to NissanConnect services and a Wi-Fi hotspot and another pair of speakers are added at the SV level.
The SL and Platinum get a 12.3-inch touchscreen plus wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa Built-in, Google Assistant, and NissanConnect navigation with voice recognition and real-time traffic/weather display via SiriusXM. The Platinum alone receives a premium Bose sound system with ten speakers.
