2025 Nissan Versa
The Nissan Versa is one of the most cost-effective vehicles on the market, with a base MSRP below $20,000. In an era where car prices keep climbing, the subcompact (yet surprisingly roomy) Versa remains true to its affordable roots without compromising on style. Its attractive design and modern amenities make the Versa feel like a more expensive vehicle, rewarding savvy buyers in their search for a reliable and fuel-efficient daily driver that doesn’t sacrifice quality. For 2025, the S and SV have been given new LED headlights, and buyers now get Nissan Maintenance Care, which is good for up to three complimentary oil changes over 2 years or 24,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Efficiency
The 2025 Versa is made in three trim levels: S, SV, and SR. Each receives a 122-horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. While the base S remains one of the few cars that comes with a standard five-speed manual transmission, buyers can opt for a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which is standard in the SV and SR. This front-wheel-drive subcompact supplies great fuel economy, with the S achieving an EPA-estimated 27 mpg around town and 35 mpg on the highway with the manual gearbox. The CVT brings the Versa to even higher efficiency at 32 mpg city/40 mpg highway.
Standard and Available Features
The S trim emphasizes value, with a straightforward equipment list led by cloth upholstery, manually controlled air conditioning, three USB ports, a 12V power outlet, cruise control, LED headlights, and 15-inch steel wheels with covers. The SV adds modern conveniences like wireless phone charging, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, a 7-inch multi-information display, a 60/40-split folding rear seatback, and 16-inch alloy wheels. At the top, the SR gets sport cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, single-zone automatic climate control, remote start, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and 17-inch wheels.
Each trim qualifies for the optional Electronics Package, which includes an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. The base S can be upgraded with the S+ Package (a 60/40-split folding rear seatback and smartphone integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay).
Safety and Driver-Assistance Technology
The ‘25 Versa includes the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of driver-assist technologies as standard equipment. This suite consists of automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, reverse automatic braking, automatic high beams, and lane departure warning. The two higher trims also get rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot warning, and driver attention monitoring, while just the SR receives adaptive cruise control.
Connectivity and Entertainment
The Versa S and SV have a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a four-speaker sound system and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. While the SV and SR get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay standard, the base trim can add it via the optional S+ Package. The SR takes things up a notch with an 8-inch touchscreen, integrated navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an additional pair of speakers.
