Monthly Maintenance
We recommend that you keep an eye on the following components of your Tesla between maintenance visits:
- Cabin filter: While replacement of the cabin filter is typically required only every year/12,500 miles, monthly inspections can help you make sure you’re breathing the best-quality cabin air.
- Windshield wipers: By regularly checking the wiper blades, you can determine the extent of wear and be sure to maintain clear visibility.
- Tire rotations: Scheduled rotations every 6,000 miles promote even tire wear, maximizing their effective life span. In between these scheduled rotations, take a minute once a week or so to look over each tire for signs of wear, bubbles, nicks, and other damage. The high-voltage battery and other components can increase the weight of the vehicle, resulting in quicker wear of the tires.
Six-Month Maintenance
Some of your Tesla’s systems should be checked on a six-month basis. These include:
- Alignment checks: Periodic alignment assessments are essential for top performance and handling. Any misalignment should be immediately corrected to preserve tire quality and overall ride safety.
- Battery tests: Although Tesla batteries are long-lasting and reliable, a six-month inspection can give you the peace of mind that your high-voltage battery is in optimal condition for the long haul. Testing of your vehicle's 12V battery is included as well.
- Brakes: Your Tesla is equipped with regenerative braking, which uses the motor to slow the vehicle and therefore takes stress off the brake pads, calipers, and rotors. That said, it’s still important to perform regular inspection of the brake system for signs of wear and tear, especially if you live in a high-salt area.
- Suspension: Proper maintenance of your Tesla’s suspension system is necessary for a comfortable ride and precise handling. Twice-annual inspection will let you spot issues before they become advanced.
Yearly Maintenance
We encourage Tesla owners to schedule the following inspections and services annually to keep the vehicle in prime condition:
- Air-conditioning system inspection: Annual assessments help with troubleshooting issues that could reduce the efficiency of your Tesla’s AC system.
- Brake calipers lubrication: Annual cleaning and lubrication of the brake calipers help control corrosion before it progresses enough to affect braking performance. This should be done every 12,000 miles and is highly recommended during the winter months.
- Coolant levels and contamination checks: Yearly checks help with maintaining optimal temperature regulation of your Tesla’s mechanical components. We use genuine Tesla coolant and other fluids to ensure your vehicle's long-term reliability.
During each visit, our skilled service technicians will conduct a thorough multipoint inspection on your Tesla to make sure all systems are in impeccable condition. This way, we can address any problems early on to maintain the vehicle’s peak performance.
